Glass Expo Midwest 2006 Underway and Going Strong;
Torrence Aluminum, MTH Employees Winners at Golf Outing
Glass Expo Midwest 2006 is underway today at the Renaissance Shaumburg
Hotel and Convention Center in Shaumburg, Ill., with a full range of educational
seminars for both the flat and auto glass industries.
The social aspect of the show began yesterday with a golf tournament at
Highland Woods Golf Course. The event, a four-person scramble, was won
by a three-person team consisting of Rich Kuras, Rich Graham and Tim O'Connor,
all of Torrence Aluminum with a score of -11 par.
There were two closest-to-the-pin competitions, Kuras winning one of those
competitions and Dennis Koziol of MTH Industries winning the second. The
event's long drive competition was also won by a member of MTH staff,
Joe Harris.
That evening, many attendees traveled for an optional event to U.S. Cellular
Field to watch the local Chicago White Sox play the New York Yankees in
a very close baseball game. The final score was 7-6, Yankees favor.
"We've been coming to this event for years and have always learned
something new. Even the glass 101 session taught attendees quite a bit,"
said Michael Collins.
Glass Expo Midwest trade show opens today at 3 p.m. (runs until 8 p.m.
with a cocktail party on the floor starting at 6 p.m.) and will be open
again tomorrow from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
