Glasstech Opens Sales and Support Office in Shanghai

Since the 1980s, Perrysburg, Ohio-based Glasstech Inc. has been supplying China's glass processors with bending and tempering equipment. In an effort to enhance existing customer support and strengthen its market position in the Pacific Rim, the company today opened a sales and support office in Shanghai in the city's Pudong business district.

"China and the Pacific Rim have become increasingly important to Glasstech as a result of rapid growth in automotive production and strong commercial and residential building starts," said Mark Christman, president. "Our new office in Shanghai enables us to be closer to our customers and provide more timely response to their needs, as well as quickly react to new sales opportunities."

The office in Shanghai is Glasstech's second sales and support facility outside of the United States. Glasstech Ltd. in Worcester, U.K., has been in operation since 1981, servicing customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
