GlassTech Asia 2005 Achieves Stellar Sales Performance with Quality Exhibitors, Buyers and Visitors in First Two Days

GlassTech Asia 2005, which ran from on November 30 to December 2 at Challenger Hall 3 of IMPACT, generated orders totaling US$6 million (250 million baht) from both Thai and international buyers on the first show day.

Some 80-percent of the latest high-tech machinery from the 352 exhibitors at the event were sold off the floor with additional orders being taken, indicating that the event, which moved from Singapore to Thailand for the first time this year, will far exceed the targeted sales of US$15 million (600 million baht).

GlassTech Asia 2005, the largest glass exhibition in ASEAN and South Asia and the second largest in the Asia-Pacific region, has managed an impressive record of an estimated 3,200 visitors and counting from some 48 countries in only two days. Exhibitors are impressed with the quality of visitors comprising of a diverse portfolio of glass industry leaders and high-profiled engineering experts. A healthy count of more than 1,500 visitors thronged through the exhibition hall on the first day and more than 1,700 visitors on the second.

According to the organizers Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS), a great deal of attention was placed in providing exhibitors with a focused and relevant visitor mix of prospective buyers and opinion leaders. The show has attracted 45-percent overseas visitors with Malaysia being the largest group of foreign visitors, followed by India, The Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Australia and Sri Lanka in descending order. A healthy number of show attendees were from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Venezuela, Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel, Kuwait and Iran), Canada and Hong Kong.

The organizers are pleased with the multi-national pool of quality visitors, which stands as a testament of the importance of this exhibition on an international level. Its successful marketing and promotional efforts have created massive market awareness to these very niche industry professionals.

Invited from mainly the Asia-Pacific countries to specifically seek business opportunities at the fair, the "Hosted Buyers Programme" attracted more than 40 buyers from the flat glass and hollow glass sectors. They were hosted over the show days in Thailand where they expanded and at the same time renewed business ties with the exhibitors.

Thirty-percent larger in exhibitors and venue size as compared to the last show in Singapore, GlassTech Asia 2005 occupied a gross area of 10,000 square metres and answers the call for the increasing world demand in total glass processing solutions.
