The Board of Directors of the Iowa Chapter of the IGA has announced
its support for the national IGA's position urging reform in the auto
glass industry's benchmark pricing.
The state board, representing its members, shares the IGA's concern
that current benchmark lists do not consistantly reflect current manufacturer's
pricing schedules. This situation can and has let to unfair pricing
that acts to the detriment of vehicle owners, insurers, and the auto
glass replacement installers.
The Iowa chapter of the IGA urges other state associations to take a
position on this critical issue, and to convey that position to NAGS
and the Chicago Group. Additionally, the Iowa chapter of the IGA is
urging the Mitchell Group and NAGS to further postpone their benchmark
re-evaluation until the Chicago Group findings are complete.
