Lilbuddy Scores at Best of Belron
At
the recent Best of Belron competition in Nurberg, Germany earlier this
month, the top three finishers all used the Lilbuddy Pro windshield tool
for one-man sets.
According to officials of the Sussex, Wis.-based company, of the representatives
from 21 countries, five used its tool.
Belron officials have confirmed that "Lil Buddy Pro is at present
on trial with Belron and as such no one should assume, presume or claim
a global endorsement by our Group at this time."
The Best of Belron competition is held every other year. The world's largest
AGRR company organizes the event to showcase the skill of its technicians.
The day-and-a-half long competition consists of different aspects of the
technician's job-quality, safety, efficiency and customer service. They
are also required to do both repair and replacement. The judges were technical
managers and trainers within Belron from around the world.
Thomas Bessel of Germany was named the winner of the competition, earning
the title Technician of the Year. The runners-up were: Laurent Doneux,
representing the Belgium/Luxenbourg region, Matt Walsh from Australia,
Richard Sittlington of New Zealand and Joris Meesen of The Netherlands.
Jason Dansey of the United Kingdom received the Smart Thinking award,
having recognized and resolved "a number of 'bear traps'" designed
to stump competitors.
This year for the first time, the Best of Belron competition included
a representative from the United States, Loren McGlone of Elite Auto Glass.
