European Competition Held for Master Fitters

The 2006 International Master Fitter Competition was held in Dusseldorf, Germany, last Friday and Saturday. The International Master Fitter Competition is organized by Automotive Glazing Europe, UEMV.

First place in the annual event went to Thomas Kolsvik of Sweden. Glenn Furuland of Norway took second place.

Jeff Olive, director of quality control for Glasspro, Summerville, S.C., and winner of the first Auto Glass Technician Olympics, took third place.

Olive was the first person from the United States to compete in the expanded international event, which is held every other year in conjunction with the glasstec show.

This week Olive is serving as an alternate judge for the 2006 Auto Glass Technician Olympics, which will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
