Beranek Receives Len Stolk Special Achievement Award
With nearly 30 years in the industry, Beranek's volunteerism and leadership both in the industry and in his personal life were cited as reason for the award. Beranek is a board member of the AGRSS Council and also has taught classes on proper windshield installations for the Auto Glass Technician Institute (AGTI) as well has having led numerous auto glass installation demonstrations at industry trade shows. Additionally, he will return to help judge the Auto Glass Technician Olympics 2006 this fall. Having been personally acquainted with Len Stolk, Beranek was especially honored by the award and especially surprised by having his whole family, including his older sister, at the award presentation. In an emotional and brief speech, Beranek thanked the industry, naming Binswanger Glass and Cindy Rowe Auto Glass, among others. The NGA Auto Glass Conference kicked off with a keynote speech by Gary Lubner of Belron and continues today with seminars on side curtain airbags and roll-over systems, a management seminar on making business more profitable and new technology presented at the Detroit Auto Show. The trade show begins today at 3 p.m. |
