The board of directors of the New York State Glass Association (NYSGA)
has announced its support for the National Glass Association's position
urging reform in the auto glass industry's benchmark pricing.
The board, representing its members across New York state, shares the
NGA's concern that current benchmark lists do not consistently reflect
current manufacturers' pricing schedules. This situation can and has
led to unfair pricing that acts to the detriment of vehicle owners,
insurers, and the auto glass replacement installers.
The NYSGA urges other state glass associations take a position on this
critical issue, and to convey that position to NAGS and the Chicago
Group. Additionally, the NYSGA is urging the Mitchell Group and NAGS
to postpone their January benchmark pricing re-evaluation until the
Chicago Group finding is complete.
