PPG Auto Glass vice president of operations Glen Hartman has retired from the company on January 31, 2005 after 35 years with the glass manufacturer. "Glen was well-known and well-respected for his technical knowledge and expertise. He will be missed by many throughout PPG Industries," said Marc Talbert, president of PPG Auto Glass in a news release issued February 3. Hartman, 55, started with PPG at a branch in San Antonio in 1971 and became branch manager in Harlingen, Texas, in 1975. Six years later he moved to Philadelphia to serve as the area manager for Northeastern States for the company's Commercial Construction Group and in 1990 returned to Texas as a regional sales manager for the southwest. In 1995 he assumed the role of director of sales and distribution of the Automotive Replacement Glass (ARG) division West, a position he maintained until being named senior vice president of the central region of PPG Auto Glass upon its formation in 2000. In June 2004 he was named vice president of operations for the Auto Glass Division. |
