In response to the glassBYTEs™ item last Friday concerning VeriFAST Inc. and PPG Industries Inc., the Pittsburgh, Pa., based company has issued this statement.

PPG Industries continues to support its customers engaged in the automotive glass repair business with products, training and marketing support.

"We also provide our customers local training support through PPG Auto Glass open house events, which feature glass repair demonstrations from leading providers of glass repair equipment."

A complete listing of glass repair products available through PPG Auto Glass can be accessed at www.ppgautoglass.com.
The PPG Automotive Aftermarket Alliance is also supporting the windshield repair and replacement industry through the sponsorship of an article in the Car Care Newspaper Supplement produced by The Car Care Council. The supplement will be distributed to more than 1,700 major daily and weekly newspapers in the U.S. and Canada during the month of April.

The article, "Windshield Repair or Replacement - Tips to Determine," educates consumers about the types of windshield damage that can be repaired and how to choose a qualified repair facility. The article encourages consumers to seek out PPG PROSTARS network shops which have experienced, certified professionals that specialize in the repair and replacement of automobile windshields.
