(Madison - WI) Auto Glass Specialists contributes to local communities with the third year of its People Who Care program. The company along with participating insurance agencies rose over $12,945 for 182 charities and organizations in the Midwest. The People Who Care program is a community fund raising program. Robert Birkhauser, Auto Glass Specialists President, said, "It is a vital part of our corporate culture to give back to the communities we serve. We especially embrace ways in which we can help the arts, children and education." Every time Auto Glass Specialists performed a job referred by a participating insurance agency, a monetary donation was made in that insurance agency's name to the charity or organization of the insurance agency's choice. Auto Glass Specialists donated $5 for every windshield or curved-tempered replacement and $1 for every windshield repair for five months. The top three charities receiving a donation were the American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House Charities and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. From giving monetary donations to awarding its employees for volunteering time, Auto Glass Specialists has incorporated giving back to communities in which it serves into its corporate culture. The company is an active contributor especially when the charity or organization involves the arts, children and education. The employee-owned company is the Midwest leader in automotive glass repair and replacement with 60 locations. It is accredited to the national Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard.
