SB305, the bill working its way through the Texas Senate to license and regulate glass technicians, was referred to the Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee yesterday.

The bill had been passed by the body on April 28.

Donald Day, Texas Glass & Tinting, who has been working for passage of the legislation, said that it is still possible to get it enacted this year, and he is hoping for a hearing next week.

He said that the key is getting strong sponsors and there are three possible sponsors already lined up, and there is even hope of getting the vice chairman of the committee to become a sponsor.
