Mr. Go-Glass Sold to Joy Companies

Well-known full-service glass company Mr. Go-Glass has been sold to The Joy Companies, the holding company for BF Joy LLC, a veteran-owned small business based in Hyattsville, Md. BF Joy specializes in the installation, maintenance and rehabilitation of underground infrastructure. “This is not a strategic acquisition but a financial acquisition,” explains Doug Linderer, second generation outgoing owner of Mr. Go-Glass. “This solves my succession question.” Continue reading

Is This the Beginning of the End of the Giant Glass Brand?

Three years after purchasing North Andover, Mass.-based Giant Glass Co., Safelite AutoGlass is moving to co-brand its name with the company. Prior to this, Giant Glass’ five locations continued to operate under the existing name, and Safelite rebranded its Falmouth, Mass., store into the Boston brand. Down the road could Safelite phase out the Giant Glass name and market the stores solely under the Safelite AutoGlass moniker? It wouldn’t be the first time, according to those in the industry.
